Port Authority L500 Ladies pique Pique Knit Polo Shirts

A women's uniform polo has to survive the same wash as the men's shirt and still sit right on a female frame. That is the job of this 5 oz./yd2 65/35 polyester/cotton pique. Polyester in the blend keeps wrinkles and shrinkage from wrecking a weekly laundry. Cotton in the blend keeps the face from feeling like gym mesh. Silk Touch is the name of that knit hand.

The pattern is a ladies body through the shoulder, bust, and hem. It is not a men's polo taken down a size. Flat knit collar and cuffs. Three-button placket. Metal buttons with plastic rims dyed to the shirt, so Navy and Black do not pick up a silver flash at the neck. Double-needle work at the armholes and bottom hem. Side vents so the shirt covers a waistband instead of riding up when she reaches a counter.

Where it gets used. Front desk and sales floors. Course staff and outing gifts. Hotel and restaurant teams that need a polo that still looks like a polo after a week of laundry. Clinic and office staff who want a women's cut next to the men's short sleeve. School and nonprofit programs that buy one color for the whole roster. The men's companion is K500. Order both in the same color when the roster is mixed.

Embroidery and print. Left chest is the clean embroidery zone. Stay off the placket buttons and the vent. Front or back screen print and heat transfer work on this pique. It is not a polyester dye-sub jersey, so do not treat a full-front print like a 100% poly athletic shirt. Strike off first. Blank samples are allowed for evaluating fit, color, and fabric before a decorated order. Up to 2 of each style, color, and size. Different sizes of the same shirt are allowed.

Sizing from the mill chart. XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL. That tracks about women's 2 / 4-6 / 8-10 / 12-14 / 16-18 / 20-22 / 24-26 / 28-30 / 32-34 / 36-38. Body bust: 32-34 in. at XS up to 60-63 in. at 6XL. Garment bust laid flat, one inch below the armhole: 18 1/2, 19 1/2, 20 1/2, 22, 23 1/2, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33 in. Back length: 26 in. at XS, plus 1/2 in. per size, to 30 1/2 in. at 6XL. Sleeve from center back: 15 1/4 in. at XS, stepping to 19 3/8 in. at 4XL, 5XL, and 6XL. Between sizes, go up if the chest logo needs room. Larger sizes may add a size upcharge at checkout.

Colors and companions. Color run matches K500, 34 colors on the current spec. Navy, Black, and White do the everyday uniform work. Red, Royal, Burgundy, and Cool Grey follow. Charcoal Heather Grey is on the current sheet. A few older shades still appear after they leave the spec. Check stock before you lock thread color. Men's short sleeve: K500. Ladies long sleeve: L500LS. Youth: Y500. Tall men: TLK500. Men's pocket: K500P.

Care: Machine wash cold with like colors. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low. Cool iron if needed. Do not iron decoration.

These shirts function as uniforms for the staff.  They last years with frequent washing.  The color stays true and does not fade.
